After three weeks of delays, and pumping out a foot of water, the foundation walls were poured yesterday (07.13). We are praying for continued dry weather and construction progress...keep your fingers crossed.

After the rain comes

A Muddy Mess

We had hoped to pour our foundation walls this week, but Mother Nature had another plan. In the last 24 hours we received 3.5" of rain, drowning our plans to pour concrete this week. Moreover, this week marks the fourth lost week of construction time. So, out of the six weeks we've had the site ready, the contruction crew has only been on the jobsite for two weeks. All we can do for now is be patient.

On sure footing

Our crewed poured the footings on June 24th. Now I get to put in a little sweat equity and spend a few hours stripping off the formwork.

Pump it up

Ground Breaking

This photo was taken a few days prior to the groundbreaking and was taken from the vantage point of our future living room.

In the spring of 2009, we purchased five acres in hopes of eventually building a house that fits our lifestyle and our family. Situated next to a state park, we call our acreage Samantha's Playground.
